Most CUAS systems use the Concept of Operations (CONOPS) that mirrors that in the defence arena. The CUAS systems will detect, identify, classify, and interdict the intruding drones. This is acceptable in defence applications, as there is depth in the defence buffer zone. But, this is not the case for drones. Drones can take off as near as fenceline, while rogue drone pilots can be kilometres away. Drones can reach the backyard in a matter of minutes, and latency with man in the loop will render such CUAS systems ineffective. Moreover, some systems require the detected drone signature to match their library before it is classified as a drone. That means there is a high Probability of Failed Detection. Others have high Probability of False Alarm. High Power Jammers in the range of 10’s and 100’s W of RF power transmission are deployed to defeat drones transmitting in the range of 1 W to 5 W. When not used properly, these jammers pose radiation hazards against humans, disruption of civilian communication systems, as well as potential damage of electronics. Collateral damage is high.

As opposed to such Reactive Systems, iCREDO formulated a CONOPS coined Pre-emptive & Persistent CUAS (P2CUAS). To support this CONOPS, iCREDO develops emASPIDA, a Smart Jammer using innovative proprietary waveforms that can disrupt the drone-controller communication using very low RF power transmission. ASPIDA is a Latin word for "Shield". emASPIDA provides an electromagnetic shield preventing drones from infiltrating a theatre it is protecting. It is transmitting 24/7, providing persistent coverage. Irrespective of the existence and/or type of drones, emASPIDA presents a pre-emptive shield against intruding drones. As such, it is able to take down swarm drone attacks. As it is transmitting low RF power, collateral damage is reduced to a minimum.

Note that P2CUAS is one of the many CONOPS developed by iCREDO. Other CONOPS are developed to tailor for different terrains and applications. iCREDO's products are tuned and customized for each CONOPS.
